Spain has a wealth of culinary tradition and part of that tradition is eating together around a communal table with family and friends. With this in mind, we wanted to share this experience with you centered around one of Spain’s most treasured dishes – paella.
In 2008, Socarrat Paella Bar was opened in Chelsea. Guests sit at a long communal table and choose from a selection of various paellas, tapas, and a selection of wines from all of Spain. In 2010, we were thrilled to expand to a new neighborhood with the opening of Socarrat Nolita.
“Socarrat” is that delectable, scrumptious crust that forms at the bottom of the paella pan when the liquid is rendered and the rice has reached its peak of succulence. In other words, “socarrat” is the result of paella cooked to perfection. To us, we have come to think of “Socarrat” as a standard of perfection to aim for in everything we do.
